CENTRAL CITY, Iowa, Mar. 13, 2018 — AT&T* customers and FirstNet subscribers in Central City got a big boost in wireless connectivity. We enhanced the area’s 4G LTE coverage to help give customers and first responders faster, more reliable wireless service.
Our investment will help customers get the most out of their mobile devices. With 4G LTE service, customers will experience better network connectivity while streaming videos, sharing on social media or texting family and friends.
By building out our 4G LTE network, we are laying the foundation for 5G, the next advance in network technologies. We’re boosting network speeds and capacity, as we continue to expand the availability and capacity of our network using the latest technology.

We’re also boosting network reliability and capacity as we expand our network. These upgrades will also benefit public safety and first responders on FirstNet – public safety’s dedicated communications platform.

FirstNet is being built with AT&T in a public-private partnership with the First Responder Network Authority. It’s designed to help first responders in Iowa and across the country connect to the critical information they need – when they need it – so they can keep themselves and the communities they serve safer.

These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for Iowans and their businesses. We continued our investment in Iowa in 2018 and plan to keep upgrading our network throughout 2019.
