AT&T Creates 500 New Jobs In Chicago With Call Center Launch

Company Opens Its Most Advanced Customer Care Facility

CHICAGO, Wed. March 7, 2018 — AT&T* is creating 500 new jobs at a new, state-of-the-art customer call center in Chicago.

Employees at the center will handle calls from customers with multiple products and services from AT&T. The facility offers a Chicago-themed fun and modern interior design, featuring the latest technology. The Chicago call center will handle millions of calls annually.

“We’re proud to make this investment and create 500 jobs here in Chicago, Illinois. We’ve hired some of the best people throughout the city to work in this call center – our most advanced in the country,” said Jamie Barton, AT&T executive vice president and head of Customer Care. “This is a great work environment with the latest tools designed to let our people focus on our customers and deliver a simple and intuitive experience.”

About 300 customer service professionals have been hired to work at the call center and we plan to hire 200 more by the end of 2018. We have hired a diverse group of people from throughout the city -- North Side, West Side and South Side -- and the suburbs.

“Chicago is the best city in the country to grow a business, and I commend AT&T for choosing Chicago for this expansion,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “This move will not only bring more than 500 jobs to Chicago, it will strengthen our city’s position at the forefront of the national and global telecommunications industry.”

“Illinois offers employers some of the hardest-working people and best infrastructure to do business,” said Gov. Bruce Rauner. “AT&T’s investment in this new cutting-edge facility in our state shows that we can all win when we create the right climate for growth and good jobs.”

“We created these 500 jobs here, in part, because we like the direction of the investment climate for the telecommunications industry in Illinois,” said AT&T Illinois President Paul La Schiazza. “Any city in any state would like the opportunity to have AT&T create 500 new jobs and invest in a state-of-the-art call center, and we created them here. On telecommunications policy, things are moving in the right direction in Illinois.”

For these jobs, we are looking for candidates with strong communication skills and a focus on customer service, along with good critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills. To apply, go to or click HERE.
