AT&T Boosts Mobile Internet Coverage at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Ahead of Indianapolis 500

What’s the news?

AT&T boosted its mobile internet coverage at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) with a new antenna system to give customers stronger connections.

Why is this important?

We know how important it is for our customers to stay connected. That’s why we’re upgrading our network using a Distributed Antenna System (DAS). A DAS is made of numerous, small antennas that distribute AT&T wireless network coverage to provide extra cellular capacity and shorten the distance a call or text must travel. Simply put—calls, texts and posts are less likely to get stuck in a data “traffic jam.”

This also helps IMS staff, pit crews, drivers and fans get the best possible experience over the AT&T network during the Indy 500. And it’s giving first responders on FirstNet – America’s public safety network – access to always-on, 24-hours-a-day priority and preemption across voice and data.

What is FirstNet?
