Indianapolis-area consumers and businesses are now among the first in the country with access to the AT&T 5G network.
Millions of consumers and businesses across Birmingham, Ala., Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Providence, R.I., Rochester, N.Y., San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose, Calif. market areas can now access AT&T’s low-band 5G network using the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G.
“Businesses in Indianapolis have had access to 5G since we launched one year ago, and I’m thrilled to open up AT&T 5G for consumers here as well,” said Bill Soards, president AT&T Indiana. “We plan to rapidly expand our coverage and we’re on track to offer nationwide AT&T 5G service in the first half of 2020.”
“Throughout the years, Indiana and AT&T have always maintained a strong partnership, with AT&T choosing to start many of their investments right here in the Hoosier state,” said Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch. “I am so proud of the work and efforts that have gone into making Indiana one of the first providers of 5G+ and the joint research and development initiatives coordinated with Purdue University. Companies continue to choose Indiana, and their commitment to the state has boosted our economy and solidified our place as a leader in the technology industry. As Hoosiers, we lean into innovation and we are confident AT&T’s latest introduction of 5G technology will take us to the Next Level.”
AT&T customers can purchase the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G in Indianapolis-area AT&T stores or online at att.com/GalaxyNote10Plus5G.1 For a limited time, customers can get the device for as low as $350 when purchased on a qualifying device installment plan, with eligible unlimited plan and trade in.2
With today’s introduction of AT&T 5G, we now offer two types of next generation technology –5G and what we call 5G+ in the Indianapolis area, to best serve different applications and customer needs.
Indianapolis area customers who travel outside our available 5G coverage area with a compatible 5G device will have confidence in knowing they will still be able to connect to the nation’s best and also the fastest network on AT&T 5G Evolution and LTE. In fact, LTE customers in Indianapolis are already benefitting from the upgrades we’ve made to our network while preparing it for 5G. We offer 5G Evolution (areas with optimized LTE technologies) in over 550 markets today and it offers customers speeds up to twice as fast as LTE.3
