Columbus high school’s work-study program gets boost from AT&T

AT&T Ohio is proud to be working with Cristo Rey Columbus High School through its Professional Work-Study Program. A national educational model in which businesses invest in student workers to make college-preparatory education possible for students with economic need, this program allows businesses to fill entry-level clerical positions, and provides students with the ability to earn a significant portion of the cost of their private education while gaining professional work experience.

AT&T has collaborated with the YMCA of Central Ohio to provide on-site work experiences for 4 Cristo Rey students. The YMCA is where students will receive their day-to-day professional experiences; they will occasionally be joining AT&T employees for job shadowing and special events.

Students who are participating in the program tell us they are interested in learning about “business professionalism” and social skills, among other things. Their college goals include attending The Ohio State University and Georgetown University and studying pediatric physical therapy and forensic science.
