Paul Weirtz was named president of AT&T Minnesota in March 2013. Paul leads AT&T’s legislative and community affairs activities in the state and works closely with community leaders, legislators and other policymakers, as well as local and regional business leaders and customers. Paul began his career with AT&T in 1999.
In 2017, Paul was instrumental in advocating for state legislation that streamlines the process for the deployment of small cell technology in Minnesota, paving the way for the next generation of wireless technology in the state. Paul was appointed by Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton to a three-year term on the governor’s Broadband Task Force in 2015. He also serves on the board of the Minnesota High Tech Association and the community advisory board of the Salvation Army’s Northern Division. In 2018, Paul was named one of the top 500 business executives by Minnesota Monthly magazine.
A native of Ohio, Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Akron. He is an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
Paul, his wife Mary and their two daughters currently live in Bayport, Minnesota. In his spare time, Paul volunteers weekly at the Union Gospel Mission in St. Paul and is an avid golfer, hiker and Twin Cities foodie.
